Business:

We elected to be taxed as a REIT for federal income tax purposes commencing with our taxable year ended December 31, 2000. Our current portfolio consists of 1,695,000 square feet comprised of 15 office properties, two industrial properties and five retail properties, which we refer to collectively as our commercial portfolio. In addition, we also own interests, through our subsidiaries, in 129 model homes subject to triple-net leases with well-established residential home builders. Beginning in 2015, we began to focus our commercial portfolio primarily on office and industrial properties, and have been actively managing the portfolio to transition out of retail properties. Our commercial properties are currently located in Southern California, Colorado, and North Dakota, and we are currently considering new commercial property acquisitions in a variety of additional markets across the United States. Our commercial property tenant base is highly diversified and consists of approximately 283 individual commercial tenants with an average remaining lease term of approximately 3.2 years as of June 30, 2017.
