Angelo Rufino is the CEO of Bain Capital GSS Investment Corp. Mr. Rufino joined Bain Capital, LP in 2024 and is a Partner, Head of Special Situations in North America and Corporate Special Situations in Europe, leading investments across corporate, real estate, structured solutions, hard assets, and opportunistic strategies. Prior to Bain Capital, Mr. Rufino was a Managing Partner at Brookfield Asset Management (2014–2024), where he held senior leadership roles across private equity and credit, including serving as Global Head and Chief Investment Officer of Brookfield Special Investments. He also oversaw the firm’s music royalties business, homebuilder finance strategy, and was a key investor in its insurance business. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rufino helped establish Brigade Capital’s distressed credit and special situations group, worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, and began his career as an Examiner at the SEC.
Patrick Dury has served as Chief Financial Officer since July 2025. He has also served as Chief Financial Officer of Bain Capital Special Situations since 2015, where he is responsible for overseeing financial operations and reporting. In 2018, Mr. Dury also served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Bain Capital Specialty Finance, Inc. Prior to joining Bain Capital, he was a Senior Manager in the Asset Management practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specializing in alternative investment products.
The controlling members of the sponsor are partners of Bain Capital Special Situations, or “BCSS.” BCSS is in turn an affiliate of Bain Capital, a global alternative investment firm with over $185 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2024. Since its founding in 1984, Bain Capital has employed a strategic, analytical approach to identify attractive investment opportunities and partner with management teams to transform and improve their businesses across a range of sectors and industries.
(Note: Bain Capital GSS Investment Corp. priced its SPAC IPO on Sept. 29, 2025, in sync with the terms in the prospectus: 40 million units at $10.00 each to raise $400 million. Each unit consists of one share of stock and one-fifth of one redeemable warrant.)
