The SPAC IPO Buzz: Inflection Point Acquisition VIII Raises $250 Million

Inflection Point Acquisition Corp. VIII (IPHXU) – part of Michael Blitzer’s SPAC franchise – raised $250 million – pricing 25 million units at $10.00 each – in its SPAC IPO on Thursday night, Aug. 27, 2026. Each unit consists of one share and one-third of one redeemable warrant, the prospectus said.

Inflection Point Acquisition VIII (IPHXU) made its NASDAQ debut on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026 – opening at $10.15, up 15 cents for a 1.5 percent gain from its SPAC IPO price.

Cohen & Company Capital Markets acted as the sole book-runner.

Blitzer is the founder and partner of Inflection Point Asset Management, which he co-founded with Kevin Shannon in 2024.

Since May 2026, Blitzer has served as the chairman of Inflection Point Acquisition VIII and Shannon has served as the CEO.

Miami Beach-based Inflection Point Acquisition VIII said in the prospectus that it would look for “an innovative technology-enabled company of scale” in its search for a suitable acquisition target.

“We intend to focus our search initially on North American and European businesses in disruptive growth sectors, which complements the expertise of our management team.”
