Bambusa Therapeutics (BBTX Proposed), a clinical biotech developing drugs to treat atopic dermatitis (“AD”) and COPD, set the terms and launched its $150 million IPO early today – Monday, Oct. 26, 2026 – with plans to price the deal this week. Bambusa Therapeutics, Inc. is offering 9.38 million shares at a price range of $15.00 to $17.00 to raise $150 million, if priced at the $16.00 mid-point of its range, according to its S-1/A filing dated Oct. 26, 2026.
BofA Securities, Evercore ISI, UBS Investment Bank and Cantor are the joint book-runners.
At pricing, Bambusa Therapeutics would have a market cap of $796.19 million – if priced at its $16.00 mid-point.
Bambusa Therapeutics, based in Boston, is focused on developing next-generation and long-acting precision bispecific therapies for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Bambusa Therapeutics’ lead product candidate, BBT001, is “designed to simultaneously address core Type 2 inflammation and chronic itch, the two defining burdens of atopic dermatitis (“AD”) and other inflammatory skin diseases,” according to the prospectus.
The company plans to initiate study start-up activities for its Phase 2b dose-ranging clinical trial of a SubQ formulation of BBT001 to treat patients with moderate-to-severe AD (“Phase 2b AD Study”) by the end of 2026.
Its second lead product candidate, BBT002, “has the potential to address a number of Type 2 inflammatory disorders across respiratory and allergic diseases,” Bambusa Therapeutics said in the prospectus.
“We are currently evaluating BBT002 for: (i) the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in our global Phase 1 clinical trial in the United States, Australia, Europe, Georgia, and New Zealand (“Global BBT002 Study”); and (ii) our Phase 1/2a clinical trial for COPD in China (“China COPD Study”),” Bambusa Therapeutics said in the prospectus. “We are also evaluating BBT002 for the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (“CRSwNP”) in a Phase 2a clinical trial in China (“China CRSwNP Study”).”
The Boston biotech also has two preclinical product candidates – BBT003 – for inflammatory bowel diseases (“IBD”) with a plan to start a Phase 1 clinical trial by the end of 2026 – and BBT004 – for autoantibody-driven AID – with a plan to start a Phase 1 clinical trial by the end of 2027, Bambusa Therapeutics said in the prospectus.
“Each of our programs is designed to be a “pipeline-in-a-molecule” with the potential for broad applicability across multiple indications,” according to the prospectus.
Bambusa Therapeutics, Inc. is not profitable and it has not generated any product revenue so far, according to financial statements in the prospectus – and that is typical for a biotech going public.
